Jelly Coaching Networks for Business

Developing a coaching culture in the work place can bring many rewards such as improved productivity, motivation, creativity and communication between teams and team members.

The size of your company will have an impact on how you can develop a co-coaching network, but most organisations can benefit from developing a network that is open to people at all levels of the organisation.

For all but small organisations the networks operate with a core group of trained people who take responsibility for setting up network meetings, communicating with the wider staff teams, facilitating the meeting, monitoring and evaluating the network.

The meetings give the wider staff teams a chance to develop coaching skills by practicing on each other and enhancing their work performance by being coached by other staff at network meetings.

Solid! can provide materials to use at each network meeting or the core team can provide this.

There are generally 6 steps to setting up a coaching network:

  1. Identify the core staff group – this can be senior managers or middle managers.
  2. Core group attend training.
  3. Communicate with all staff about coaching network and the opportunity to learn new skills they can then use with colleagues, family and friends.
  4. Set up the initial network meeting to provide an overview of the scheme and start skills development.
  5. Hold 4-6 network meetings a year.
  6. Monitor and evaluate the scheme.
